Space Shuttle Endeavour STS-134 Ascent

This is an absolutely stunning video of Endeavour's recent, and final, voyage into space.

I'm hoping to head down to Florida with Gina to see the final Shuttle launch next month. The crowds will surely be insane and there's always the possibility it will get delayed and I'll miss it. Still, I've never seen one in person and I don't want to miss the opportunity to cross it off my bucket list...

  1. I was there for there at the Kennedy Space Center, such an amazing experience even though we only saw if for about 20 seconds before it went into the overcast cloud layer. This was our second attempt at seeing the Endeavor, the first time we went it was scrubbed the day of the launch.

We are going to try to make it for the final launch, too, hope to see you there!

  2. I missed the NASA Tweetup registration window, would have loved that inside access. But, I am thinking about going down as well to see this historic last launch.

  3. Maybe we can organize some sort of blogger/aviation nut meet-up if we all make it down! We're going to try and visit KSC if possible (assuming the launch isn't delayed) that weekend since neither of us have ever been there before.

  4. Thinking about bagging a few days and trying to see the launch. We need to trade info, it would be great to catch up.

  5. I'll put another post up on here a couple weeks prior to the launch as s pseudo-roll call for anyone making the trip.

From that, I'll work on organizing an email chain for those of us who are headed to Florida!
