You'll come to enjoy head winds when you work on short field takeoffs and landings; there's nothing like stopping the airplane in 500 feet. Keep up the training and enjoy the view along the way. :)Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11130510691724323456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1417693701650847558.post-32856733159244328432009-12-01T06:22:57.796-05:002009-12-01T06:22:57.796-05:00Hi, i am a budding pilot training at Chimes Aviati...Hi, i am a budding pilot training at Chimes Aviation Academy (www.caaindia.com) in India. I came across your blog by accident and i must say that head winds do make flying a little difficult. I am training on a Cessna 172. Although I am still in training I have observed that flying is quite safe on a Cessna.

Just waiting for the day when i can cover miles like you do on the wings of my bird!rahul arorahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05538766100322670003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1417693701650847558.post-41969103969622509122009-11-10T12:03:23.148-05:002009-11-10T12:03:23.148-05:00I hate to be the bearer of bad (factual news) but ...I hate to be the bearer of bad (factual news) but GA flying is actually 7 times more fatal than driving in a car, on par with riding a motorcycle. On the other hand, when it comes to flying the airlines you are still absolutely more likely to die during the drive to the airport.

The important takeaway is that as GA pilots, we need to continually work towards improving our safety and risk management skills!Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11130510691724323456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1417693701650847558.post-28423633494687260062009-11-10T11:46:42.665-05:002009-11-10T11:46:42.665-05:00Steve, Thanks for the reminder to do clearing turn...Steve, Thanks for the reminder to do clearing turns, always.
